Last year we were approached with a very exciting project – the opportunity to create a completely new luxury brand from scratch. The project was called Devieta and the brief was to build a brand around a capsule collection of fashion/technology accessories for the luxury market, with the aim of seamlessly combining Asian technological knowhow with European style and quality.
In the end, it took the combined expertise of all of the Design Laboratory teams working closely together to execute the brief and the project has become a benchmark for our methodology. Here’s a sneak peak at the conceptual development of the elegant, ergonomic logo we created to represent the brand’s values. Watch this space for more…
Design Laboratory’s sixth season for Robe di Kappa was showcased in Beijing as part of Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week S/S12. Inspired by the London 2012 Olympic values and influenced by the origins of sports fashion, the range progresses from subtle, monochrome colours for spring to vibrant graphics and multicultural, mashed up silhouettes for summer. We’ve recently created a range of technical sportswear targeted at indoor climbers. The brand is called Hard Severe after a grade of difficulty within climbing and required several visits to the indoor climbing wall ‘The Castle’, which had the interesting side effect of one of our designers taking up climbing herself.

We’re very pleased to welcome a new member to the Design Laboratory team – our New Business Executive, Nathalie Joffre. Nathalie comes to us from Google France, but not only that, she’s also training to be a photographer at CSM’s sister college, The London College of Communication.
We’re very excited about a new project that we have been working on with Bacardi. It’s far too early to say anything about it but Sara Mendez, Innovation Director at Bacardi had this to say about our work…“Great combination of both strategic and creative skills, qualities that are rare to find in the same agency”…
